Many adults feel that graphic novels are not the type of reading material that will help young people become good readers.(they)
Svetlanka [38]

The correct answer is A. Many adults.

Explanation

In the fragment, the words "Many adults" are an antecedent, that is, a previous noun that is replaced by a pronoun (for example he, she, it, we, they) in the following sentence. In the text the author mentioned "Many adults feel ..." and then he said, "They believe...". This means, the noun "many adults" is replaced by the pronoun "they". According to the above, the correct answer is A.

Which literary device does the author use in these lines from a short story?
Alex
In my opinion, the correct answer is A. simile. You can see that in the construction "four men (...) like burglars". A simile is actually a comparison that always follows this formula: A is like B. It usually uses the conjunctions (like/as), but sometimes, in its shorter form, it doesn't even need them. We don't see a metaphor here - every word is used in its literal meaning. We don't see an irony either. As for syntax, it is not even a literary device.
