Depends what you need, does it have to be debatable or what kind of research paper?
Vowel suffix's include suffix's such as -ed;-ing;-en;-es;-est;-er;and -y. All of these suffix's begin with a vowel that is why they are vowel suffix's. If you have a word that ends with a silent "e" you drop the "e" before adding the suffix. Hope this helps.
