He inspired African Americans to fight for their rights through a less aggressive means. Without him, we would still be in the save segregated situation as it was back then. He was a powerful leader of the Civil Rights Movement. He used peaceful tactics to put an end to the discrimination, and didn’t phase when the government tried to suppress him or when he faced violence from others against his actions.
