The issue addressed by the Missouri Compromise was: Slavery.

Missouri requested to enter in the Union as a slave state, which threatened to upset the balance between slave states and free states. The Congress solution was to grant Missouri's request but also admiting Maine as a free state. This kept the balance. So afterwards the United States contained twenty-four states, evenly divided.

Before the Missouri Compromise of 1820, there was tension between anti-slavery and pro-slavery circles within the U.S Congress. It got intense after Missouri wanted to join a slave state, this caused some problem because it was going to affect the balance within the country. At that time, there existed twenty two states in the country, eleven slave states, and eleven free states.

To balance the equation and for peace to reign, Congress composed a two-part compromise, granting Missouri’s offer but also enabling Maine as a free state.

So basically the Missouri Compromise was centered around slavery, and slavery expansion.

One of the Patriots' greatest strengths was their
aksik [14]
One of the Patriots' greatest strengths was their PERSISTENCE TO CONTINUE FIGHTING.
Even though they met with lots of resistance on their ways, yet the patriots refuse to quit and continued fighting from generation to generation until America obtain the total freedom she so much desired and craved for. The freedom would have been unobtainable, if the patriots had laid down their weapons and refuse to continue fighting due to weariness and their children would have continue to be subjected to all forms of bondage.<span />

Which Roman leader unified Rome after a series of civil wars and was declared their absolute ruler?
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]
I think it was Octavian Augustus. He was given a crown of oak leaves to signify divinity; these were usually given out to people who saved someone's life during battle(different leaves were used), but he was given this one because he 'saved' all the people of the Roman Empire with his fantastic leadership.

How did the fire stone company get to play a role in the untied nations dision that divided palistein into two?
shutvik [7]

Answer:

The Firestone company has blackmailed and pressured the Liberian government to vote in favor of the division of Palestine.

Explanation:

On November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly determined that a vote be taken to determine whether the division of Palestine should take place so that the Jews occupied one side, while the Arabs occupied the other side. This vote resulted in 33 votes in favor, 13 votes against and 10 abstentions.

Many of the countries that voted in favor of the division were blackmailed, pressured and paid to make that decision. Among these countries we can mention Liberia, which was blackmailed and pressured by the Firestone Company, a rubber company that was very influential in Liberia.

Do you think tariffs were beneficial to the Republic of Texas? Why or why not?
Mrrafil [7]

Tariffs mainly benefit the importing countries, as they are the ones setting the policy and receiving the money. The primary benefit is that tariffs produce revenue on goods and services brought into the country. Tariffs can also serve as an opening point for negotiations between two countries.
