GUIDING QUESTION How did colonialism influence the history and
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

Colonialism, that is, the policies carried out by the European powers to obtain territories abroad and exploit them economically within the framework of mercantilist economic production, forever marked the destiny of the different nations that emerged from the colonized territories.

This was the case, among others, of the nations of Central America and the Caribbean, where powers such as Spain, England, France, the Netherlands and Portugal established different colonies, transferring their cultures to these territories, to the detriment of native cultures, which they were displaced and in many cases wiped out by the colonizers.

In this way, the nations of these regions are the product of said colonialist intervention: their peoples emerge from the mixture of Europeans, slaves, natives and later migrants, and their cultures are also a mixture between these nations. In addition, politically these countries have adopted Western systems, leaving aside the systems applied by the natives.

Identify the Earth motion that provides the basis for our system of local time and time zones.
dybincka [34]
The picture is basically not necessary here, what the question is asking is : why do we have different time and different time zones?

Our time is divided into 24 hours, so you could ask: what happens every 24 hours? the answer is: the Earth rotates around its axis. So, the Earth motion responsible for this is its rotation around its axis.

Explain the process of compass points (direction of flow of rivers)
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

The direction of rivers are usually expressed with respect to the directions we are familiar with: North, South, East or West.

A river has an origin, usually at a higher latitude and ends at the sea or ocean or a large water body. Gravity is the driving force for river flow. Hence, we gauge the ‘direction’ the water is going to flow for any river.

If we were going to get more technical, flow in rivers and streams are measured for their streamflow, which is the amount of water passing through some infinitesmal volume, i.e a point over time. The velocity of the water is determined using acoustic/Doppler based instruments, which will give the local direction of the flow of the river at the measured point along with the velocity.

Hope the answer helps!
