Answer:

1. Modern players are much more muscular—it’s rare to see a lanky player anymore—than are players from the past.

Explanation:

Some of the situations in which we use dashes in a sentence is to make a statement, a remark, or a comment that add information to a part of a sentence or to clarify such part, although they are not necessary to the meaning of the full sentence, which means that if the words set off by dashes are taken out, the sentence would still make perfect sense. Very often, they are used for emphasis, and they interrupt a sentence to a certain point.

Thus, sentence number 1 is the correct answer because the dashes are put to add a comment about a previous statement "Modern players are much more muscular". Furthermore, the dashes are also placed in the right places, because if we were to take out what it is set off by the dashes, the sentence would still make perfect sense, and this does not happen with the other given options.

Qualities of strong relationships.
Mashutka [201]

Two of the most important qualities in healthy, long-lasting relationships are communication and vulnerability.

Communication involves both transparency to talk about anything which praises or challenges the relationship as well as close attention to listen and internalize feedback. Open, judgement-free communication allows people to feel meaningful and respected as it promotes personal growth through good disposition to let feedback shape us. Therefore, a sense of stability is created which encourages preference for one such relationship over many others lacking these essential elements.

Vulnerability is the act of allowing others to see our true self, (weaknesses, fears and needs included) as well as that of opening trust channels to let others show us theirs. Vulnerability allows people to feel a deeper level of emotional involvement which increases positive attachment in any relationship. It is not easy to accomplish given our drive for self-preservation which naturally avoids potential emotional pain after a let down. However, only by incresingly putting our guard down and creating healthy spaces for others to put down theirs can we assure a relationship to stand the test of time.

Communication and vulnerability contribute to healthy, long lasting relationships.

Which sentence uses a verb that agrees with its pronoun subject? A. Few of the singers was on key. B. Not one of those teenagers
sladkih [1.3K]
The correct answer is D. : Does someone... know.

Someone needs a singular for of the verb, as it refers to a single person.

In A. the mistake is that "Few" refers to multiple people so it needs a plural form, in B. one (of those...) requires singular and C. "several" requires plural
- and they all have the wrong number.
