It was 5 different bills that were passed in order to identify free states, it helped make California a free state and allowed Utah and New Mexico to decide for their own.

The Fugitive Slave Acts was a compromise in order to help slave owners be returned to their owners regardless if it was a free state meaning government had to find the fugitive slaves.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin was a novel written against slavery by an American author, it was said to help lay down some ground work for the Civil war and also effected attitudes toward African Americans and slavery.

It was a case in court against the fact of slavery, Dredd Scott was a slave from Missouri.  It was a fight for freedom regarding Dredd Scott, Dredd and Harriet filed lawsuits for freedom and it was soon taken to trial, they won but the courts decision changed and they were enslaved once again.

They were a series of seven different debates including Abraham Lincoln.  The debates reinvigorated Lincoln's political career that became popular among republicans.

John Brown’s Raid was a raid regarding Harpers Ferry, though it failed it helped make it clearly impossible for any accommodation of North and South, it became an important impulse of the Civil War

The Election of 1860 was an election for president including Abraham Lincoln who was famous with republicans, it was a fight against a votes with John C. Breckinridge, after focusing on different areas Abraham was nominated for President.

This area was the first to be attacked, marking the beginning of the Civil War lasting 4 years, many died and many slaves were freed by the war.  Leaving the Confederate in victory.
