In order to become a Lawyer in the state of Alabama, one must apply to State Government for the license.

In the United States of America, States have a lot of power due to Federalism. In this case, The Board of Bar Commissioners, which is part of the State Government, takes care of the examination of applicants.

The Alabama State Bar licenses and regulates attorneys in the State of Alabama. It's subject to the Rules of the Supreme Court of Alabama.
