Anettt [7]

Prior to the 1830s, criminal justice in America incorporated several techniques of punishment. Probation was not one of the methods used.

Probation in criminal law is a period of surveillance for offenders and is often ordered by a court in lieu of imprisonment. In some jurisdictions, the term probation applies only to joint judgments, such as suspended judgments.

Probation is a period of time during which a person who commits a crime does not go to prison but, according to the law, must be supervised by a probation officer.

A probationary period is a period during which an employee is hired to test their suitability for a job. An employer may terminate an employee's services if the employee's performance is found to be unsatisfactory, but this cannot be construed as unlawful.

How did the promise to add a bill of rights to the constitution influence the ratification debate?
hram777 [196]
Most who were against the ratification of the constitution was because they feared their rights would be taken away like in England. Adding a bill of rights ensured their rights could not be taken away and provided security for those against it. This way, they didn't have to worry that America would become corrupt like England
