Help please quick!! why do we use the word 'corridor' to describe trees that are planted?

English
1 answer:
kirza4 [7]3 years ago
5 0

Explanation:

We conducted a study at the privately owned El Zota Biological Field Station in Costa Rica to assess the effects of forest management techniques on primate ecology and behavior. While many conservation-oriented studies note the need for “corridors” to promote dispersal between isolated habitat fragments, few studies provide quantitative information on their use by primates. From July to August 2002, we studied the three primate species that occur at the El Zota Biological Field Station in Costa Rica — Cebus capucinus, Ateles geoffroyi, Alouatta palliata — to compare their use of planted versus naturally forested areas. We collected approximately 25 hours of data to quantify the general activities exhibited by primates in these types of habitat.

Edwards delivered his famous sermon during a revival movement intended to reinvigorate church attendance and bring more converts into the faith. He recognized that people were drifting away from church and relegating their faith to the background of their lives. The entire sermon is designed to shock listeners and instill a sense of urgency in their return to religion.

Edwards likely believed that Hell was an abstract notion to many of his listeners, and so he loaded the sermon with horrifying sense imagery to try to convince the congregation that Hell was a concrete place of eternal tortures.

Read the excerpt from Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

The correct answer is: “strange” and “suffocating”

Explanation:

In this excerpt, the author tries to create a tone of anxiety by using some words closely related to this feeling, as for example, "strange" and "suffocating". The author uses these words to create a strange and unpleasant ambiance, which causes anxiety in him, as the air seems to be suffocating after his look at a strange yellowish sky.

Identify two situations where Rukmani refers to the gods and goddesses throughout the novel. What do these situations reveal abo
Elena L [17]

One of the first hints we can find about gods in Nectar in a Sieve is found in Chapter 3, when Rukmani talks about the difficulties her and her partner, Nathan, have to conceive a child. In her visit to her mother, who is a very spiritual person, Rukmani criticizes the god's willingness to help human beings:

"My mother, whenever I paid her a visit, would make me accompany her to a temple, and together we would pray and pray before the deity, imploring for help until we were giddy. But the Gods have other things to do; they cannot attend to the pleas of every suppliant who dares to raise his cares to heaven. And so the years rolled by and still we had only one child, and that a daughter."

Another example of Rukmani's reference to gods, is found in her description of her youngest son's health condition, as well as her struggling to help him. This can be found in Chapter 16:

"I gazed at the small tired face, soothed by sleep as it had not been for many nights, and even as I puzzled about the change, profound gratitude flooded through me, and it seemed to me that the Gods were not remote, not unheedful, since they had heard his cries and stilled them as if by a miracle."
