I believe the answer would be to attempt to equal. To emulate something would be to imitate or copy. And based on the statement "she asked questions to find out how the manager had reached his position of leadership", we can assume that they are trying to learn from them.

The answer is: attempt to equal.

The word “emulate”, which in this passage has a positive connotation, means to match, to equal, to imitate. In the passage above, the cashier wishes to become as good as the manager, to imitate him and his achievement that got him to a position of leadership. The cashier, most likely, through these actions, wishes to achieve a higher position or a better paid working position.

Which of the following is a fallacy of syllogism? I. non sequitur II. faulty analogy III. hasty generalization
topjm [15]

III. hasty generalization

A syllogistic fallacy is more of a generalization than it is a sequence or analogy. This error of reasoning occurs by first mentioning something broad/general then proceeds to make a conclusion about something that is very specific by means of generalizing. For example, this would be considered fallacy of syllogism:

All jets are air crafts. All propeller airplanes are air crafts. Therefore, propeller airplanes are jets.

Thus, you can see how a generalization is made about propeller airplanes being jets because they are both air crafts.
