Answer:

Id say yes society has learned from Scrooge. He was a selfish man who only thought of himself and didnt help anyone at all. He was self centerd and bas consenquese came from his actions. So the raise in donations and giving probaly grew beacuse people where afraid the same thing whould happen to them.

In all honestly, I would say yes.

Scrooge was an ignorant, cruel man. He used the poor and destitute to further his own agenda, and ACC was a great way to disguise Dickens message with a wonderful story. The quote ‘I can’t afford to make idle people merry.’ is an example of scrooges insolence, he believed that paying the institutions(workhouses, etc) money through tax, he was helping the poor.
But now, many people donate to charity’s and you could say that’s an improvement.

Workhorses etc have been abolished, which I suppose is rather good, but the poor and homeless are still struggling which could suggest that society hasn’t learned.
