Answer:

Explanation:

Sleep begins in stage 1 and progresses into stages 2, and 3. After stage 3 sleep, stage 2 sleep is repeated before entering REM sleep. On average, we enter the REM stage approximately 90 minutes after falling asleep. The first cycle of REM sleep might last only a short amount of time, but each cycle becomes longer.

Stage 1 is the beginning of the sleep cycle and is a relatively light stage of sleep. Stage 1 can be considered a transition period between wakefulness and sleep. Stage 2 is the second stage of sleep and lasts for approximately 20 minutes. During stage 2 sleep, You become less aware of your surroundings.Body temperature drops. Breathing and heart rate become more regular. During stage 3 sleep: Muscles relax. Blood pressure and breathing rate drop. Deepest sleep occurs. During REM sleep: The brain becomes more active.
The body becomes relaxed and immobilized. Dreams occur. Eyes move rapidly.

If your immune system is compromised, it is possible your body would not be able to send the resources necessary to fight off the infection that you already have immunity to, therefore there is some possibility of a reoccurring illness in an immuno-compromised individual.

Match the following. 1. vitamin C deficiency pellagra 2. thiamine deficiency (hyphenated) rickets 3. vitamin D deficiency scurvy
viva [34]
This question is in the context of diseases acquired from the deficiency of these vitamins.

Vitamin C deficiency causes scurvy and this is characterized by decreased collagen production leading to easy bleeding of the soft tissues. Thiamine deficiency causes beriberi which is characterized primarily by symptoms associated with heart failure. Vitamin D deficiency causes rickets which is the abnormal softening of the bones of children (vitamin D deficiency causes osteomalacia in adults). Niacin deficiency causes pellagra characterized by diarrhea, dermatitis, dementia, and even death if untreated. Vitamin A deficiency causes keratomalacia which causes death of corneal cells leading to cloudy vision.

The others are to be matched by description. Milk protein is called casein. Egg white protein is called albumen. Lastly, starch stored in the liver and muscle is called glycogen.
