Write a paragraph that expresses your opinion about the Patriot Act. Do you think it was right to give the government more power
MissTica

The Patriot Act was not needed by the government and was overblown and misused more often than not.

Explanation:

The Patriot Act out of many unconstitutional things it does, violates the fourth amendment which protects the people against unwarranted searching without any proper reason.

The law that was passed in the aftermath of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center came as US wanted to increase home security and wanted to crack down on terrorists.

However, this law made itself a safeguard of Xenophobia.

many people were taken into custody and prisoners by the look of their skin and often persecuted for a long time before being set free.

Over [174]

The Texans believe they could win independence from Mexico because they knew they can outnumber the Mexicans four to one and overcome the power of the Mexican government.

What caused the Texas Revolution?

The main cause of the Texas Revolution was the refusal of many Texans to accept the governmental changes mandated by "Siete Leyes" which placed almost total power in their hands.

Hence, the Texans believe they could win independence from Mexico because they knew they can outnumber the Mexicans four to one and overcome the power of the Mexican government.

Therefore, the Option C is correct.

What was a result of widespread anti-Semitism in Europe in the late 1800s?
marishachu [46]

Answer: The Zionist movement began and led to the settlement and creation of modern Israel.

Details:

Anti-Semitism was strong in Europe already in the Middle Ages, when Jews were accused of such things as spreading the plague by poisoning wells, or using the blood of murdered Christians to make the matzah for their Passover rituals. The term "anti-Semitism" as a description for hostile opposition to the Jewish people was first used by Wilhelm Marr in 1879 in Germany. Marr supported campaigns against Jews and began using the term "anti-Semitism" as a euphemism for what better might have been called "Jew-hating."

The main Zionist movement was largely secular in nature, focused on establishing a homeland for anyone of Jewish ethnicity. Theodore Herzl is typically credited with getting the secular Zionist movement started with his book, Der Judenstaat ("The Jews' State), published in 1896. Herzl also led in the founding of the World Zionist Organization, established by the First World Zionist Congress held in Switzerland in 1897. Convinced that the Jews would never truly be welcomed or assimilated within the countries of Europe, Herzl argued for establishment of their own homeland somewhere. Eventually that "somewhere" became a movement focused on going back to the ancestral land of Israel.
