Why did nativism strengthen during the 1920s, and how did the government deal with the tensions?
Natali5045456 [20]
Nativism is defined as the belief that one's native land needs to be protected against immigrants. The rise of nativism in the 1920s was caused mainly by immigration. The immigrants were the ones who were blamed for the bombing, strikes and recession. President Warren G Harding promoted a "return to normalcy," and isolationism helped advance the cause of freedom and democracy. Hope this helps.

Like the Olmec, the Maya also lived in a theocracy(leaders/ruling classes represented the will of the gods). Both the Olmec and Mayan cities were designed to pay tribute to the gods.

You want to do a survey on how religious people are in your town. what do you need to have a valid scientific sample? check all
koban [17]

I believe the answer is:

random sample of the town's population

A mix of participants that reflect your town's makeup

Random sample is needed in order to ensure that the researchers do not obtain only the subjects that is close to them. Mix of participants is needed in order to ensure that the sample population are not taken from group with close similarties in behaviour.

Why federal government more expensive than unitary government
Lostsunrise [7]

It isn’t. (well, it isn’t supposed to be)

But then again, in the US we no longer have a Federal Government, but a pseudo Federal Government, that acts like, and is treated like, a unitarian government.

Over the last 80 to 100 years, and especially in the last 50, the separation between State and Federal duties, has all but been eliminated by Progressive ideology.

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected.

The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.Federalist No 45

Because of the corruption of the Commerce Clause in Wickard v Filburn, and the General Welfare Clause, in Helvering v Davis, the Federal Government is now involved in the objects, that were supposed to be left to the States, and this has caused its budget to balloon out of control.
