Why did French resolve the issue with Mi'kmaq?

Social Studies
1 answer:
Ierofanga [76]3 years ago

Answer:

The French and British both sought to expand their colonial empires, while the Mi’kmaq, who held the key to both trade and security in the region, wanted to engage in trade but retain their territory. Within this increasingly hostile environment, the Mi’kmaq and French joined forces against their mutual adversary: the British. This cooperation in war was based on a formal alliance between the French Crown and Mi’kmaw leaders, an alliance that grew out of long-standing relationships and ties of religion and trade dating back centuries.

Formally renewed each year in ceremonies that included speeches, feasting and the exchange of gifts, the alliance reflected both Mi’kmaw and French understandings of diplomacy and provides a specific example of how formal relationships were negotiated and cultural understandings were accommodated in France’s North American empire.

How the Other Half Lives, Jacob Riis (1890).
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

- These works had significant influence on social, political, and economic reform.

Explanation:

As per the question, the given authors, as well as their texts, had a quite considerable impact on the social, economic, as well as the political realm of the American society. 'How the Other Half Lives' by Jacob Riis displayed the social evils like poverty, widening gap between the poor and rich, corruption, the terrible condition of the immigrants in slums of New York, etc. while 'The Jungle' authored by Upton Sinclair reveals the economic evil of 'wicked and destructive consequences of capitalism.'

In 'The Grapes of Wrath', Steinback discusses the 'condition of migrant workers and inhumanity faced by them' and 'Unsafe at Any Speed' comments upon the 'dangers of style-oriented behavior of American Automobile industry and ignorance of consumer safety act which makes people unsafe at every speed.' Thus, all four texts display significant issues prevalent in American society at the time.

Critical race theory is associated with which of the major theoretical perspectives or schools of thought in sociology?
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Critical race theory is associated with Conflict theory.

Conflict theories are views in sociology and social psychology that emphasize a materialist interpretation of records, dialectical approach of evaluation, an essential stance in the direction of current social preparations, and a political application of revolution or, at least, reform. struggle theories draw attention to electricity differentials, consisting of class struggle, and normally contrast traditionally dominant ideologies. it is therefore a macro-degree analysis of society.

Karl Marx is regarded as the father of the social conflict concept, which is a component of the 4 essential paradigms of sociology. Certain struggle theories set out to spotlight the ideological components inherent in the traditional idea.

While lots of these views preserve parallels, war idea does no longer talk to a unified college of concept, and must no longer be careworn with, as instance, peace and conflict research, or some other unique idea of social conflict.
