Compare the written description of the Boston Massacre to the image depicting this historical event. Which details are emphasize
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

In these two depictions of the Boston Massacre, there is an apparent similarity between the events in the written description and the actual image. In the written description, it describes the tension, confusion, anger, and fear between the soldiers and the citizens, and how when that explodes, it's nothing but chaos, bloodshed, and gunpowder. It also shows this in the image where the citizens are running for their lives and getting caught up in the confusion, where the soldiers are just blindly following orders and opening fire on civilians. In the image you can also see how the gunpowder just adds to the confusion and chaos.

Although they are about the same thing, the written description shows more detail and events leading up to the massacre, whereas the image only shows the event as it's happening. For example, the excerpt describes how the tension was growing due to an increase of people, shouting, and the throwing of snowballs and sticks, whereas in the image, it's harder to see the tension that was once there because it's already been broken.

The image and the excerpt give two different affects to the event, because with the excerpt, it shows more of the confusion and misinterpretation, so you you would be able to understand the situation of both the soldiers and the citizens. Yet, in the image depiction, it is more of an opinionated view because there is no background to the story, so when you only see the soldiers killing civilians, you go completely against the soldiers and it becomes more of a "massacre" than what is depicted in the written version.

God I hope this helps!! Good luck bb!! <3
