The industrial revolution changed the lifes around the globe.
The Middle Ages and Renaissance periods shared many similarities and many differences. The Middle Ages were considered dark and barbaric, while the Renaissance (meaning rebirth) was a vibrant and prosperous period. Both had social classes, but during the Renaissance these classes were more relaxed and less rigid. Literature and arts were very important during both time periods. Society became more educated during the Renaissance and citizens enjoyed a wider variety of writings. In the Middle Ages, typically only clergy and the upper classes could read. Religion was important during both periods. However, during the Middle Ages religion was never questioned and the Roman Catholic Church reigned supreme. The Renaissance would see the Church viewed with skepticism and doubt.
Because of widespread fear of a strong central government at the time they were written and strong loyalties among Americans to their own state as opposed to any national government during the American Revolution, the Articles of Confederation purposely kept the national government as weak as possible .
It required China to recognize Korea's independence. China also had to recognize Japan, Taiwan, and the eastern portion of Liaodong Peninsula as fully sovereign. China agrees to pay Japan 200,000,000 Kuping taels. The treaty also opened up trade ports for Japan.
