Cliff was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for "long distance running". He completed 6,520 miles of the 16,000-kilometer run, but had to leave because only his team was sick. In 2000, Young won the age record at a six-day race in Victoria. He was famous for his running style all over the world.
