otez555 [7]

Answer:

TRUE

Explanation:

They created and nurtured them. Like children, the American colonies grew and flourished under British supervision. Like many adolescents, the colonies rebelled against their parent country by declaring independence. But the American democratic experiment did not begin in 1776. The main goal of the North at the beginning of the war was to a. end slavery. c. punish the South. b. be recognized as independe
irinina [24]

Answer:

The main goal has always been

d. reunite the country.

Explanation:

In America, the issue of slavery was such a strong topic that most american president tried to overlook abolishing it or looking into it or using the topic to campaign during election time. When Lincoln became president, he promised to abolish slavery which didn't go down well with those living in the Southern States in America.

This issue caused them to try to form and declare their own country. America being a single indivisible country tried everything possible to prevent such. When it didn't work, the Northern States had no other option than to go to war with the Southern States inorder to preserve their sovereignty as a single country.

Should the federal legislature be able to repeal state laws in order to impose federal laws for the purpose of promoting the gen
padilas [110]

The federal legislature or congress can repeal the state laws under the necessary and proper clause in order to impose federal laws necessary to provide general welfare and common defense of the nation because they have the authority to do so. This authority was given to them because the people believed that the congress would decide for the common good.

Moreover, only the federal legislature has the right to contract debts, lay taxes and if they believed that a state law may prevent the collection of a federal tax, then they can repeal state laws making sure that it is for the benefit of the United States.
