Social grants allow individuals who are in great need of financial support to receive financial assistance from the government to lessen the needs that these individuals may experience.

Although social grants are beneficial to society, they can develop some social problems such as rising unemployment and increasing the number of teenage mothers. This is because, some people who receive these grants, in order not to lose government aid, refuse jobs and ignore available job openings. This, in addition to harming the entire productive sector in the country, promotes a large government expenditure.

In relation to the increase in adolescent mothers, we can consider that social grants increase the number of adolescent girls out of school, without occupations and included in environments that can influence early relationships, leading to pregnancy.
