Analysis of what Bruno's grandmother said in 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.'

Bruno, a nine year old boy is the central character from the novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pajamas’ which is written by John Boyne. There comes an incident in the novel when Bruno wears a striped pajama and it makes him feel and realize what it is like to be Jew.

On the other hand, when Bruno’s father wears his uniform, he becomes a changed personality, he is no more what he seemed to be. He becomes the commandant. In the novel, clothes are something which differentiates between the people from both the side of the fence.

This way of thinking shows how dangerous it is to follow tradition blindly, never questioning beliefs that are passed down from one generation to the next.
