     I'm not quite sure how your assignment may view the counterculture revolution but started mostly by university students and gradually enveloping American culture there began a strong anti-war sentiment from the people back home and a large love themed movement because the United States had been losing so much in Vietnam for so long. Eventually, people like Nixon and Kennedy would try and crackdown or appease the protests but as the soldiers began to lose thought of what to fight for, the VC had been winning the war and becoming stronger, and situation with the protesters at home had been boiling into crisis level, Richard Nixon had realized he let America go to hell long enough and left Vietnam and got pretty destroyed reputably for his undeniable corruption scandals.
