Here, all we need to do is subtitute w = 2 and x = 2 into the expression, by multiplying and adding. First, we will muliply 9w:

9w

9 · w =

9 · 2 =

18

Now, all we have to do is use our answer for 9w, and subtract x from it:

9w - x

18 - (2) =

18 - 2 =

16

So, our answer is 16.

Use f(x) = 2 x and f-'(x) = 2x to solve the problems.
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

a) 1

b) 2

c) 2

Step-by-step explanation:

a) f(2) means find the output for \frac{1}{2}x when x=2.

\frac{1}{2}(2)

\frac{2}{2}

1

b) f^{-1}(1) means find the output for 2x when x=1

2(1)

2

c) If f and f^{-1} are truly inverses then f(f^{-1}(u))=u and f^{-1}(f(u))=u as long as u satisfies the domains.

So we should be able to conclude that f^{-1}(f(2))=2 with no work.

However, I will also show work.

f^{-1}(f(2))

f^{-1}(1)    since    f(2)=1 from part a.

2            since    f^{-1}(1)=2 from part b.

The mean is the average. You calculate it by adding all the numbers up in the data set and divide by how many numbers there are in the data set.

So:

\sf Mean=\dfrac{70+68+72+66+68+69+66+71+74+66}{10}\rightarrow\dfrac{690}{10}\rightarrow\boxed{\sf 69}

Find the distance between the points (-4, -5 and (3, -1.
Komok [63]
<u><em>≡ We know that:</em></u>
⇔ (x_{1},y_{1}) → (-4,-5)
⇔ (x_{2},y_{2}) → (3,-1)

<u><em>≡ Solution:</em></u>
⇒ \sqrt{[(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}]}
⇒ \sqrt{[(3-(-4))^{2}+(-1-(-5))^{2}]}
⇒ \sqrt{[7^{2}+4^{2}]}
⇒ \sqrt{[49+16]}
⇒ \boxed{\sqrt{65}}
