The reason why we must respect them is because in some or the other way they are benefitting the people of our own country, those people who are underprivileged.
However with long debates, the policies have changed and in India there is 10% reservation for general's too. On the contrary, if you are worthy and intelligent enough, you wouldn't ever need reservations.

2) Doing an analysis by yourself, of the fact that who got the reservation and who didn't and who needs it.
