Answer:

The base is 12 the height is 8.

Using the formula of finding the area of a triangle: BH x 1/2

8 x 12 x 1/2 = 48 Area of one triangle.

Since there are 4 equilateral triangles we multiply the area of one triangle 4 times since they are all equal.

48 x 4 = 192 in2 is your surface area

(haven't done this in quite a while so make sure to check other answers for more reassurance)

PLEASE, forgive me but I answered this and hopefully what I see is correct. I’m really sorry if this weren’t the real measurements!

Answer:

192 square inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area questions often include the net for easy answering. All you do is just find the area of each face and add them all up:

As you can see, all triangles in this net of a pyramid are the same, so once we find the area of one triangle, we’ll just multiply by 4:

FIND AREA OF ONE TRIANGLE (1/2 x b x h)

1/2 x 8 x 12 = 48 square inches

MULTIPLY BY 4 for SURFACE AREA:

48 x 4 = 192

so the SA is 192 square inches!

A cup of dog food weighs 1 and 7/8 ounces. My dog eats 5 cups per day. How many ounces of dog food does he eat?
Aneli [31]

Answer:

9 3/8 ounces of dog food

Step-by-step explanation:

1 cup = 1 7/8 ounces

1 7/8 + 1 7/8 = 2 14/8 = 3 6/8

3 6/8 + 1 7/8 = 4 13/8 = 5 5/8

5 5/8 + 1 7/8 = 6 12/8 = 7 4/8

7 4/8 + 1 7/8 = 8 11/8 = 9 3/8

The formula for the perimeter, P, of a rectangle is P = 2L + 2w, where L is the length and W is th width sovle the formula for t
vichka [17]

                                 P  =  2L + 2w

Subtract  2L
from each side:          P - 2L  =  2w

Divide each side
by  2 :                        (P - 2L) / 2  =  w

You could also write it as      (P/2  -  L)  =  w
Both answers are the same.

Apurse contains S 7.55 in quarters and dimes. There are
borishaifa [10]

Answer:

  • 25 quarters
  • 13 dimes

Step-by-step explanation:

If you subtract the extra 12 quarters from the total, you have $4.55 that can be made up of groups of 1 quarter and 1 dime. Since those groups are worth $0.35, there are $4.55/$0.35 = 13 of them.

There are 13 dimes and 13+12 = 25 quarters in the purse.

If sin θ = 1/3 and tan θ < 0, what is the value of cos θ?
Mashcka [7]
\bf sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse}
\qquad
cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}
\quad
% tangent
tan(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{adjacent}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
sin(\theta )=\cfrac{1}{3}\cfrac{\leftarrow opposite}{\leftarrow hypotenuse}\impliedby
\begin{array}{llll}
\textit{so, let's use the pythagorean}\\
\textit{theorem to get the adjacent}
\end{array}

\bf c^2=a^2+b^2\implies \pm\sqrt{c^2-b^2}=a\qquad
\begin{cases}
c=hypotenuse\\
a=adjacent\\
b=opposite\\
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
\pm\sqrt{3^2-1^2}=a\implies \pm\sqrt{8}=a\implies \pm2\sqrt{2}=a

so hmmm which is it, the +/-?   well, we know that <span>tan(θ) < 0, that means the tangent of the angle is negative, well, the tangent is opposite/adjacent, the only way that fraction can be negative, is that if either, no both, just either opposite or adjacent is negative.

well, we know the opposite is +1, so, the adjacent then has to be negative, so is -2√(2) then

</span>\bf cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}\implies cos(\theta)=\cfrac{-2\sqrt{2}}{3}
