Why did some of the Southern states secede after the election of Abraham Lincoln?
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Hi there!

Seven southern states seceded from the Union immediately after the election of Abraham Lincoln. The South thought that President Lincoln was going to end slavery. Although, President Lincoln was against slavery and thought it was saintly wrong, but he never said he'd end slavery.

Hoped this helps!

Which of the following statements is not true about Isabel de Este
lord [1]

Answer: She was a successful diplomat despite her lack of education.

Explanation: Isabella d'Este was Marchioness of Mantua, and one of the most important women during the Italian Renaissance. She was a patron of the arts, culture, and fashion.

Isabella d'Este grew up in a cultured family in Ferrara and received a fine classical education, meeting many scholars and artists when young. She helped make Mantua a centre of art and learning. She also served as regent of Mantua during her husband's absense and the minority of her son. She was  a successful diplomat, having convinced King Louis XII of France to not send his troops against Mantua.
