The pale young gentleman is a strange character, first he wants to fight Pip for no apparent reason until Pip accepts and he loses, and that is all Pip knows of him until years later when they meet again and the pale young gentleman is an adult, his name is Herbert Pocket, and they get along very well, they even become best friends.
