How does Hinton compensate for the limitations of a first-person narrator in The Outsiders?
gregori [183]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

Because Hinton chose not to write in first-person, we don't have Ponyboy's bias in the narrative. Through Hinton, we know what Ponyboy is thinking, but it's kind of like looking at his thoughts through a glass wall instead of becoming Ponyboy in the story. If that makes any sense. I did my best to explain.

Hope this helped :)

Nina [5.8K]
By showing how Carolyn’s family lives in a way that is similar to him, Soto supports the idea that there are very few differences among cultures.

I believe this is correct, because there are many descriptive words in the passage. If Soto would have left these words out the reader would not know where the story takes place.
