Excerpt from Marsupials
Vesnalui [34]

B) escape from their enemies by jumping away

Escape is spelled correctly in the excerpt. Escape does not have an x. This means option A is wrong and B is correct. C is also wrong because of the spelling of escape and also because it uses the wrong there. In the sentence, their is a possessive adjective. It shows that enemies "belong" to the monkeys since they are the enemies of the monkeys. There means a place, as in over there. They're is a contraction meaning they are. Option D is wrong because of the spelling of escape and the apostrophe in enemie's. An apostrophe is used for contractions or to show ownership. The enemies do not own anything and it is not part of a contraction.

What role did monks play in advancing literature?
34kurt

Answer:

c. because they were literate, they were able to record texts and teach others to read.

Explanation:

During the middle ages, the work that the monks carried out was a determining factor in the safekeeping of classic texts from antiquity and in spreading literacy in general. Through their work, many of the most precious literary and philosophical works that the Greeks and the Romans produced were maintained for posterity. These works were later the most influential sources in what became the Renaissance era in Italy and later in all of Europe, they became the foundation for literature and philosophy in the modern era.
