Gender roles, for the most part, were fairly similar in the ancient civilizations that made up the Mesoamerica location. Each civilization had its own beliefs and ideas, but in general, gender roles were quite similar. The Ancient Maya civilization saw to it that women were held in high regards and were fairly equal to males.
