if oranges are name oranges why did people name oranges like there is apple why not red yaya some apple are green or yellow and

some oranges are orange but some again are yellow and green so why are oranges are named oranges not green or yellow stuff why just orange. Orange is a colour and fruit name so why orange or some thing else??? ok answer that why orange are called orange not something else like other fruit and colour

The color orange wasn't actually called “orange” until after the orange fruit was officially named. They named the color after the fruit. When they were naming the fruit, red was already established.

Because both words are variations of the original names for the respective fruit, from languages other than English. The color term “orange” comes from the name of the fruit, not the other way ’round, because our previous word was just “yellow-red”, and so it was liable to be replaced.
