The answer is "the beef has been long preserved, like a dead body."

"Embalmed" signifies a preservation process of a dead body, which we often associate with Egyptian mummies. The narrator of "The Jungle" goes on to say that this meat was "old stuff that had been lying for years in the cellars," which further supports this answer choice.

Answer:

To describe the beef's quality

Explanation:

In line 17, the narrator most likely uses the phrase embalmed beef to convey the idea the beef is rotten and can be eaten safely without any fear of any infections or so. It basically describes the quality of the beef which is free of infections. It has been preserved from decay and thus can be safely consumed.

Nikolay [14]

Answer:

All u who sleep tonight

Far from the ones you love,

No hand to left or right

And emptiness all above-

know that u aren't alone

The whole world shares your tears,

some for two nights or one,

And some for all their years.

In 150 words or less, write a plot synopsis of The Most Dangerous Game.
Maslowich

Answer:

In "The Most Dangerous Game," we meet Zaroff and Rainsford. Rainsford is a hunter who is travelling to the Amazon in order to hunt a jaguar. However, he falls overboard and ends up in a semi-deserted island, where Zaroff lives. Zaroff is also a hunter, but he informs Rainsford that he prefers to hunt humans, as they are a lot more interesting. He tells Rainsford that if he is able to avoid being hunted for three days, he will regain his liberty. Although Rainsford does so, and Zaroff accepts not to hunt him anymore, the story implies that Rainsford ends up killing Zaroff and winning the "game."
