Answer:

(i) 4n - (2n + 1) = 5n + 1 - (4n)

Since it is arithmetic sequence :

The differences between each term are equal

Term 2 - Term 1 = Term 3 - Term 2

4n - 2n - 1 = 5n + 1 - 4n ( solve for n)

2n - 1 = n + 1

2n - n = 1 + 1

n = 2

(ii) sub n in any term

1st term = 2n + 1 = 2(2) + 1 = 5

2nd term = 4n = 4(2) = 8

3rd term = 5n + 1 = 5(2) + 1 = 11

The difference is 3 between each term

4th term = 3rd term + 3 = 11 + 3 = 14

5th term = 4th term + 3 = 14 + 3 = 17

pattern : 5, 8, 11, 14, 17

(iii) sum = 5 + 8 + 11 + 14 + 17 + 20 + 23 + 26

= 124

Or you can use the sum equation, it's left up to you.

What is 9lbs 6 oz converted to ounces
Tju [1.3M]

Hey there~☺

Answer:\boxed{150\text{ ounces}}

Explanation:

9 Ibs(pounds) + 6 oz(ounces) ⇒ ounces

First, let's find out how many 1 pound is equal to in ounces.

1\text{ pound}\rightarrow16\text{ ounces}

Since 1 pound is equal to 16 ounces, multiply the 9 pounds by 16.

9*16=144

Now, add the remaining 6 ounces to 144 ounces, which is also 9 pounds.

144+6=150

The answer is 150 ounces.

Hope this helps!☺

In a seventh grade class, 14 out of 30 students are boys. In simplest terms, what is the ratio of the number of boys to the numb
Triss [41]

{Hello,\;There!}

They already give you the number of boys {14}, so all you need to do is subtract 30 - 14 which will give you the ratio of girls.

It does this because 14 takes up \frac{14}{30} of the seventh grade class.

\text{30 - 14 = 16}

  So your answer is going to be 14:16 un-simplified.

  However, since they ask you to put it in the simplest terms, we are going to simplify \frac{14}{16}.

  You can do this by dividing both numbers by 2.

=  \frac{14 \div 2}{16 \div 2}=\frac{7}{8}

\bold{So\;your\;answer\;is\;going\;to\;be}

= \frac{7}{8} or \text{7:8}

\rule{300}{1.0}
