You are looking for several things when determining if a function is exponential or not.

An exponential function needs three things. A base, a power which is always a variable, and a constant.

Let me write a random exponential function and I’ll use it as an example.

f(x)=100x1.05^x

This is an exponential function because the c (constant) is 100. The c usually is about a population or object that is increasing.

The base is 1.05 which is usually a percentage increase.

Then the power which is x and this controls the time. It could be per day, year, and etc.

All of these factors contribute to the exponential function. If you have any questions ask, don’t be shy. :)

Can someone help me on 4 please
Kay [80]
To solve for x, we need to isolated and to do so, we would have to divide it by 1/6 since it's being multiplied by 1/6. To divide it, we have to do the reciprocal, which is getting any number and flipping it. So, we multiply both sides by 6 and we get 12 on one side and x on the other side.
So, x equals 12
I hope this helps

Situation D: Suppose that, in a one-minute period during an electrical storm, the number of lightning strikes on a radar antenna
Crank

Answer:

21.77% probability that the antenna will be struck exactly once during this time period.

Step-by-step explanation:

In a Poisson distribution, the probability that X represents the number of successes of a random variable is given by the following formula:

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

In which

x is the number of sucesses

e = 2.71828 is the Euler number

\mu is the mean in the given interval.

In this question:

\mu = 2.40

Find the probability that the antenna will be struck exactly once during this time period.

This is P(X = 1).

P(X = x) = \frac{e^{-\mu}*\mu^{x}}{(x)!}

P(X = 1) = \frac{e^{-2.40}*2.40^{1}}{(1)!} = 0.2177

21.77% probability that the antenna will be struck exactly once during this time period.
