Is Gatsby an Oxford man? Explain.
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

We could say that Gatsby created a picture of himself is an Oxford man.

One of the best evidences which determines Gatsby an Oxford man is a description from the book which refers to Jay Gatsby.

<em>"About Gatsby! No, I haven't. I said I'd been making a small investigation of his past." </em>

<em> "And you found he was an Oxford man," said Jordan helpfully. </em>

<em> "An Oxford man!" He was incredulous. "Like hell he is! He wears a pink suit.</em>

However, he isn't really an Oxford man. He tries to represent him like that in order to impress Daisy Buchanan and renew his relationship with her. With this status, he tries to include himself as a part of elite society, so that the members of the society could accept him as a rich intellectual. His attempts to be an Oxford man aren't convincing enough, so, despite all his efforts, we couldn't say he is a real example of an Oxford man.

What do the actions of the humans in this passage most
Arisa [49]

Answer:

The correct option is:

They value efficiency and accomplishment

Explanation:

This question refers to the excerpt from Animal Farm Chapter 6, which is given as:

"Every human being held it as an article of faith that the farm would go bankrupt sooner or later, and, above all, that the windmill would be a failure. They would meet in the public-houses and prove to one another by means of diagrams that the windmill was bound to fall down, or that if it did stand up, then that it would never work. And yet, against their will, they had developed a certain respect for the efficiency with which the animals were managing their own affairs."

We can see from the text that every human being has a sense of respect for what animals have done. Even when they know the windmill would be a failure they recognize their efforts and hardwork for managing their own affairs.
