How does the medium used by artists influence the way we perceive art and the value we may give to a particular piece?
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer

Medium influences the perception of art because it is ordinary and may seem as simple as anything else.  The medium is the common object, idea, etc, so when we see something simple such as a painted square, we may not think of what thought went behind it or even the materials that were used to make such a "simple" piece of artwork.  The medium may also help us to think harder of the artwork, we may wonder why such a simple square is so significant.  Artists should and shouldn't tailor their work to suit others.  One, they should because it is important to entertain your audiences and give them something to cheer and talk about.  But it is also important to follow an individual's patron because it is more that just a piece of art, there is meaning behind it which makes it unique and it's own.  There would be nothing similar if it was from another artist.
