SHARKS' TEETH

English
2 answers:

Answer:

First person recalling a past event.

Explanation:

In the given excerpt of the passage from "Sharks' Teeth" by Langston Carter, we see the narrator/ speaker using the first person "We" throughout the passage. The narrator talks of how he, along with other 'friends' or even maybe 'relatives', found the sharks' teeth.

Again, the use of the past tense verb form signifies that the event the narrator is talking about is from the past. And it was a personal experience, which makes the present passage a form of recollection of what had already happened. Thus, the whole passage has been narrated by a first person narrative voice, recalling a past event that he/she had personally experienced.

PART A: How does the poet’s description of the weed contribute to the meaning of the poem?
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

The answer of part A is letter A.

The answer of part B is letter B.

Explanation:

Because this poem is about the individuality and the freedom that comes with retaining one's own personal identity.  Julio Noboa  works with a metaphor, to imagine himself as a weed. And the weed will never be like the flowers, the weed, like himself, will be ugly, but able to reach places that the flowers would never be.

He claims that those who are like flowers are circumscribed by the rules of a constraining society. In the other hand, those, like himself, who are like weed, might be seen as ugly and smelly, however, they are singular individuals and they retain their own particularities and individual freedoms. They are society values free people. Living and making their own rules.

In at least one hundred words, discuss the significance of the speaker's rhetorical questions in relationship to the development
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The rhetorical question in this poem is asking about the development of a child. It's apparent that kids ask millions of questions, which is the most effective way children know the world and a part of the world becomes their lives, by asking questions, things become clearer to them and their development improves. That  is the tool employed by Whitman to show the speaker's development throughout the poem.

Children are known to be very inquisitive, they want to learn about the world they are in, they want to make sense of their environment and every existence, so the only way for them to achieve this is by asking existential questions.
