I believe the quote, "Lovers also become very dependent on the relationship, very dependent," means people often rely on their relationship in many ways. Sometimes when people love each other, they become dependent on them. An example is when a child relies and depends on their mother to protect and provide for them. A healthy form of lovers being dependent in their relationship is when they support each other and are dependent on each other to do what is best for their relationship. An unhealthy form of lovers being dependent in their relationship is when they heavily rely on their partner to bring money or be perfect in every way possible in their relationship.
