Critical thinking is the process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information to reach an answer or conclusion. Inquiry is the act of asking questions. ...

Critical thinking is about using your ability to reason. ... In an academic argument ideas are organised into a line of reasoning. The writer aims to persuade the reader that their point of view is valid. Being able to understand and create structured, reasoned arguments is central to critical thinking.

Academic research focuses on the creation of new ideas, perspectives, and arguments. Instead, the research process is about inquiry—asking questions and developing answers through serious critical thinking and thoughtful reflection. ...

Write an account about a scary experience that you have had.
Sophie [7]

Answer:

Have you ever had a scary experience? Or perhaps you would like to share with us a hair-raising adventure you've had... It is funny how we tend to remember unpleasant experiences more often than cheerful ones. However, the most important thing is that we learn something from these experiences so we wouldn't have to go through them again. Asking ourselves these questions can help us avoid such unnecessary situations.

If there was something you would have done differently during this situation, what would it have been?

Were you the one to blame for this experience or did you find yourself thrown in the middle of it?

How could you have avoided this frightening experience in the first place?

Explanation:

A Frightening Experience

Last year I went to my grannies’ house because my parents were at work. I had to sleep there. The weather was terrible, raining with thunder storms.

As my grandparents and I were eating dinner, a bolt of lightning hit a tree that was just under the kitchen window. The tree caught fire immediately. Since the kitchen curtain was flying outside because of the wind, it soon caught fire too and in a split of a second, flames were dancing all around the kitchen. We could not escape through the kitchen. My grandparents hugged me and protected me in the corner, praying that someone would notice the fire and come to rescue us. We were very frightened.

My grandmother and I searched for the telephone but unfortunately we could not find it since it had been burnt. The neighbours saw the house burning and called the police and firemen. They came immediately. While firemen tried to stop the fire, the broom cupboard fell on my grandfather ‘s head. He fell unconscious, my grandmother and I started crying for my grandfather. About half an hour late the firemen stopped the fire and came in the house to save us. The police called my parents, and an ambulance for my grandfather. Finally it was all over.

This was my most frightening experience and I wish that it will also be my last one. I never felt so scared in my life.

I WILL HAVE SAILED AROUND THE WORLD BY THE END OF NEXT YEAR. WHAT IS THE VERB FORM IN THIS SENTENCE?
Mars2501 [29]
First, we have to locate the verb in the sentence - that would be 'will have sailed.' Now, we have to determine what its form is. The correct answer is future perfect. It is future tense because you have the form 'will,' and it is perfect because of the form 'have sailed' which is present perfect form of the verb 'to sail.'
