My sentence which contains a Simple Subject, Complete Subject, Simple Predicate, and Complete Predicate is;

  • The intelligent boy passed his tests in flying colors.

A simple subject is the particular noun that performs the action in the sentence. A complete subject is the noun that performs the action along with its modifiers.

A simple predicate is the singular action performed by the subject while a complete predicate is the action performed along with its modifiers.

In the sentence above, the simple subject is 'boy'. The complete subject is<em> 'the intelligent boy'</em>. The simple predicate is 'passed'. The complete predicate is <em>passed his test in flying colors.</em>

Even though Defoe felt this way personally, I think that it is portrayed in the story that RC did not have to have people around him to be successful.  He not only was able to train people in how to care for the island and to survive, life seems to come and to to him.  He had the desire to keep on moving towards success.  I believe that him "owning" another person was not what  he wanted, but that he desired a friend.  He knew he could be successful with Friday.
