This is a personal opinion basis, I see Gothic Literature shaping our society today! it builds elements appeal intellectually, emotionally, and even spiritual to a person's eyes. It is known to have a darker side than Dark Romanticism, but still leaves heavy impacts. While both are very memorable genres of literature, gothic has left an impact. Well known novels being Frankenstein and Dracula. Ask any person and they will say they know of these stories through their own readings!
