Civilizations advanced a lot culturally, economically, structurally, and religiously from the Paleolithic era. For example, cities were home to huge and extravagant public worshipping temples. Also, new forms of governments were created such as a monarchy, where the king is the ruler of all the independent states in the nation. The way in which civilizations negatively affected humankind was that it was easier to spread diseases throughout the populous because there are so many people and everyone is so close. Additionally, the development of civilizations made it so that many people forgot their hunting and gathering heritage and all their agricultural skills were lost.
