Autobiography is one type of biography, which tells a life story of its author, meaning it is a written record of the author's life. ... Such stories include Charles Dickens' David Copperfield, and J.D Salinger's The Catcher in The Rye. In writing about personal experience, one discovers himself.

Answer:

An 'autobiography' is a retelling of someone's life that was written by that person. <u>You could write an autobiography of your own life. If you write the story of another person's life, it's called a 'biography. </u>For example - <em>David Copperfield (1850) by Charles Dickens and Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye (1951).</em>

"In "Growing Up Asian in America", The authors feelings of being "less than" and "alien" are grounded in what?
iris [78.8K]

Hey there,

It's common to feel less than others when you come from a different place since you ultimately compare your life and self to each new face you meet. <em>"Are they taller than me or am I shorter than them?"</em>, something as simple as height can make an outsider feel less. Traits such as weight, skin color, head shape, height, short legs, long arms, and so on makes one question how much is one liked in a group. <em>"Would I be more popular if I had blonde hair?".</em>

This brings me to feeling like an "alien". When you also question your personality and traditions. For example, <em>"Is my humor bland or are they really funnier than me?"</em>, you wonder if your jokes don't work because of who you are. <em>"Is my appearance really weird or do they stare at me because I am a novelty?"</em>, glares usually riddle the mind with thoughts like these.

It all comes down to experiencing certain glares and faces, so those feelings are grounded on experience. When you suddenly stand out from the crowd, and all eyes are on you, you become the alien.

Cheers

dexar [7]

This question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Frankie is in charge of writing a script for a television show, along with six other writers. The script must be finished by the end of the week. Frankie’s co-workers all bring slightly different strengths to the table, but all are at least competent. Frankie wants to write the best possible script in the generous amount of time he has to work with. In this example, which style of leadership would be most effective for Frankie’s goals?

a. Authoritarian

b. Coaching

c. Democratic

d. Delegative

Answer:

The style of leadership that would be most effective for Frankie's goals is:

C. democratic.

Explanation:

If Frankie acts as a democratic leader, he will make the most out of each member's strengths. <u>Democratic leaders allow the group's members to be more participative when it comes to decision making. Frankie will be able to encourage them to share their ideas, views, opinions, etc. Frankie is the one who will ultimately make the final decisions, but he will certainly have more material to work with, more ideas to consider, if he listens to everyone. And, since no one in his team is especially weak, there seems to be no or little disadvantage in using the leadership style.</u>
