allsm [11]

Answer:

The correct option is A. they evolved from land mammals.

Explanation:

The process of evolution explains how closely one organism is to another based on their common ancestors. Scientists believe that those organisms which show many similarities in their structures or functions might have evolved from a common ancestor in the past.

As in the above-mentioned question, scientists have observed that cetaceans lack gills and breath air, this is a property of land mammals. The cetaceans have fin bones which are similar to the limb bones. As limb bones are present in land mammals, hence they cetaceans and land mammals might have common ancestors in the past.

What type of molecule speeds up chemical reactions in living things?
iren [92.7K]

The best answer is B - Proteins.

Proteins make up enzymes, or to put it another way enzymes are made up of protein. It is enzymes that speed up the chemical reactions. Enzymes are organic catalysts, substances that speed up a (biochemical) reaction but do not take part in the reaction and remain unchanged at the end of the reaction.

In man, there are many enzymes. The majority of these are found in the digestive system where they greatly aid the process of food breakdown from complex molecules to simple molecules. Examples include salivary amylase found in saliva, which begins the gradual breaking down of starch into glucose right from the moment food is placed in the mouth and mixed with saliva. Pepsin in the stomach breaks down protein.

Identify clues you would look for to judge whether a claim is based on science or pseudoscience.
vekshin1
If a claim is based on science, it will have a lot of scientific experimentation, replication of results, peer view, and proofs obtained from a lot of researches that substantiate investigated theory. However, if a claim is based on pseudoscience, instead of evidence that supports a theory, there would be claims that doesn’t follow specific criteria.
