Will somebody give me a hand
erica [24]
Area = π × r2. Or, when you know the Diameter: A = (π/4) × D2. So A = 6π, which is 18.85. So A = 18.85. And here's the hand.

How do you find the equation for the line that is parallel to the line y=2/3x-7 and passes through the point (3,-1)
Debora [2.8K]

parallel lines have the same exact slope hmmm what's the slope of y = 2/3x-7 anyway? well, low and behold, is already in slope-intercept form, therefore

\bf \stackrel{\textit{slope-intercept form}}{y=\stackrel{slope}{\cfrac{2}{3}}x-7}.

so we're really looking for the equation of a line whose slope is 2/3, and runs through 3, -1.

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{3}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{-1})~\hspace{7em} slope =  m\implies \cfrac{2}{3} \\\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y- y_1= m(x- x_1)}\implies y-(-1)=\cfrac{2}{3}(x-3) \\\\\\ y+1=\cfrac{2}{3}x-2\implies y=\cfrac{2}{3}x-3

The density of a fish tank is 0.3 fish over feet cubed. There are 15 fish in the tank. What is the volume of the tank?
ale4655 [162]
Since Density = mass/ volume (d = m / v), and assuming the 15 fish weigh 1 gram each - if weight of each fish isn't given -  (making that a total of 15 grams),

D = m / v
0.3 = 15 / v
v = 15 / 0.3 = 50 ft cubed

Hope this answers your question correctly :)

Match the term with the definition.
maria [59]
1- Line:
A line is a one dimensional figure that is formed by joining an infinite set of points.
It has no start and no end.
Answer:
Line ..............> A) infinite number of points extending in opposite directions that has only one dimension

2- Line segment:
It is the same as the line. The only difference is that a line segment has a fixed start point and a fixed end point. It is considered to be a portion of a line
Answer:
Line segment .........> D) a part of a line that has two endpoints

3- Ray:
A ray is also a one dimensional shape. A ray usually has a start point but no end point.
Answer:
Ray .........> B) part of a line that has one endpoint and continues in one direction infinitely

4- Point:
A point is a dimensionless geometric shape. It is only used to state a certain location.
Answer:
Point .........> C) a location, has no dimension

5- Vertex:
A vertex is a term that is used to refer to the point where the two rays forming an angle meet.
Answer:
Vertex ........> E) the common endpoint of two segments or rays that form the corner of an angle

Hope this helps :)
