which factors are examples of how physical geography may have affected the great migration in the united states?
REY [17]

Answer

The factors which are examples of how physical geography may have affected the great migration into the United States are;

• Rivers and oceans that affected transportation patterns

• Mountains that affected rainfall patterns and settlements

Explanations

The desire for natural resources largely influenced migratory patterns into the United States during the great migration period. Rainfall patterns made migrants to avoid certain routes to be able to survive the journey and reach the destination. Heavy storms contributed to loss of many migrants crossing into the U.S  through  ocean vessels that could sometime loose stability and sink in the middle of the ocean.In the 18th century, massive immigrants from Ireland landed into their colonies but traveled far to reach Pennsylvania which offered generous land grants.The area had plenty of land where Scotch-Irish settlers kept increasing in the region until they reach Appalachian Mountains due to the availabilty of land they could practice farming.

Why did European countries want to colonize places in Africa and Asia ?
Nadusha1986 [10]

A large reason for why European countries colonized places in Africa and Asia was for resources. Land also equated to power. Colonization often lead to a boost in economies.

Ex. As the Industrial Revolution came, machines needed more materials, like rubber. So instead of paying or trading for this commodity, countries often resorted to colonization.
