Part of the reason for the Barbarian assaults on Rome was a huge exodus triggered by the Huns' invasion of Europe in the late fourth century. Many Germanic tribes were driven to the Roman Empire's frontiers by these Eurasian soldiers as they rampaged over northern Europe.
