I think one would have to do some research first on what is the main source of power for most of the inhabitants of a place is it hydo-electricity or say a coal-powered plant or a nuclear plant say. If it is hydro-power in itself this is probably a good thing as it is renewable as long as we decrease global warming so that the glaciers and snowfields which feed our reservoirs don't melt too fast or can accumulate in colder winters but also we should consider the new projects of the power company like the Site C dam in northern BC, Canada that will flood a very fertile valley and ancestral lands of the First Nations and even when that power is not necessary for quite a few years. Whether the power company is investigating other power sources like wind farms and making improvements to such sources is also important.
