Answer:
I took the SAT and ACT a couple of times and the things I have found the most important on the essay portion is organization, planning, structure, support/evidence, and clarity. I personally recommend planning out the structure of your essay and all of the main points in order before writing to make sure that your essentials are right in front of you. Honestly, do not be afraid to take some time and plan, I think that is where my writing suffered the most. The people reviewing your written section will also want you to have a lot of direct quotes, evidence from the text, and strong points to backup your main argument. Be confident with your answer and have a strong beginning and ending.
Hopefully this helps a bit, sorry if it does not!
